Beautiful Firetail
The Beautiful Firetail is a finch endemic to south-eastern Australia, most commonly found in Tasmania. Usually seen in pairs or small family groups, they forage on the ground and in the undergrowth. The Beautiful Firetail inhabits coastal areas of dry forest, shrubby heath and close to water.
The Tasmanian Waratah is has the same distinctive coloured flowers as the more familiar New South Wales Waratah, but with more widely spaced petals. It is endemic to Tasmania and can grow up to 10 meters high. The Tasmanian Waratah flowers in late spring and summer.
