Horsfield’s Bronze-Cuckoo
The Horsfield’s Bronze-Cuckoo is found across Australia. It favours wooded areas and is partially-migratory, moving to south-eastern Australia in winter and spring. The Horsfield’s Bronze-Cuckoo, like other cuckoos is a parasite bird, ousting the eggs of other birds such as Fairy Wrens and Thornbills and replacing them with its own, then allowing the unsuspecting mother bird to raise them as if they were their own.
Wattle or Acacia composes approximately 160 species of trees and shrubs. Their distinctive leaves have a feathery or fernlike appearance. They are also defined by their flowers, which are often yellow in colour and fragrant.
